The perfect getaway.

"The small and secluded village of Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay is renowned for its pristine, powdery white sand which is so fine it 'squeaks'. Here crystal clear waters lap onto the white sandy shore, fringed by dramatic National Park bushland which can best be described as paradise. Scenic bush and coastal walks allow you to take in breathtaking views of the bay and surrounding National Park and the clear waters are ideal for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and diving. The surrounding bushland is home to many native animals and an abundance of bird life. The Hyams Beach General Store and Cafe provides most of the immediate needs of the short term visitor, serving delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere. Most accommodation in the village is in private holiday rentals ranging from simple cottages to architect designed luxury beachfront houses."

Hyams Beach.

The waters are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and stand-up paddleboarding. Other wonderful things to do include the Hyams Beach trail, also known as the bird spotter’s walk. Keep a look out for colourful rosellas. The walk in the Jervis Bay National Park begins at the beach’s southern end.

Chinamans Beach.

Chinamans Beach is known for having some of the whitest sand in Jervis Bay. It forms part of the White Sands Walk from Vincentia. Hyams Beach village is the best access or take a leisurely walk from Greenfield Beach instead.  This beach is often quiet and it is a lovely spot to enjoy the veiw.

Walks

Bird Spotters Walk.

Follow the lead of the local birdwatchers who designed this delightful walk, which is also known as Bird Spotter's walk. They’ve even added signs to explain the birds you’ll see and hear along the way.

Keep an eye out for some of the birds the Jervis Bay area is known for, like new holland honey-eaters, eastern spinebills, eastern rosellas, and crimson rosellas.

White Sands Walk.

nationalparks.nsw.gov.au

Starting at Chinamans Beach, this short walk passes white sandy beaches and coastal forest by the shores of Jervis Bay. Stop for a swim, spot birds and dolphins, and continue walking to Greenfield Beach.

Booderee National Park.

The ruined Cape St George Lighthouse is perched on the edge of spectacular cliffs between Booderee National Park and the sea.

The lighthouse lookout offers stunning sea and cliff views - a fantastic place to watch whale migrations (June to July and September to November). It is heritage-listed and the most significant European historic site in Booderee National Park.
